Campaign Launched to get One Direction to meet Smiler crash victim, Leah Washington

A campaign was launched to try and get One Direction to visit Smiler crash victim, Leah Washington in hospital after it was announced she had to have her leg amputated due to the injuries caused by the rollercoaster crash last Tuesday.

Alton Towers re-opens after Smiler crash

Alton Towers re-opened yesterday, almost a week after the Smiler crash.

Last Tuesday, a carriage with 16 passengers crashed into a test carriage onboard the rollercoaster. The four young thrill-seekers in the front row when the crash occurred were seriously injured in the crash.

What was meant to be a fun thrill-seeking day quickly became a day full of terror for those involved in the crash.

However, the park has re-opened with queues a lot shorter than usual. Thrill-seekers have said that they felt safe going to the theme park as it would be ''safer'' especially on the day of re-opening''.

Virgin | Sex Pistols credit cards launched

Virgin Money has launched Sex Pistols credit cards.

Sir Richard stated to the media, ''The Sex Pistols are an important part of Virgin's history''.

The new credit cards will be extremely modern with a feature which allows the card holder's details to be displayed on the back of the card.

Body found at Lowestoft Marina

On Thursday 4 June, a man's body was found at the Lowestoft Marina.

A member of the public reported seeing a body floating in the water at Haven Marina in the early morning of Thursday.

Police have stated that they are treating the death as unexplained and an investigation will begin.

Alton Towers Crash | 17-yer-old has leg amputated

17-year-old, Leah Washington, has had to have a part of her leg amputated after being involved in the Alton Towers Smiler crash.

David Washington, Leah's father, stated ''Leah has suffered a life-changing injury and now has many months of rehabilitation ahead of her''.

Nick Varney, CEO Merlin Entertainments stated: ''We are deeply saddened by the news about Leah and all our thoughts are with her and her family''.

Smiler Crash Victims Named

The famously-fast ride at The Alton Towers Resort, 'The Smiler', had an accident a few days ago.

16 people were injured , four of which suffered serious injuries.

Leah Washington and Joe Pugh are two of the four seriously injured. The couple were in the front row of the carriage when it crashed into an empty tester carriage that had been stuck on the track for several minutes.

West Midlands ambulances and air ambulances were called too the scene of the accident. A platform was placed by staff for the emergency services to rescue the injured.

The carriage traveled at 20mph when it crashed into a test carriage on Tuesday 2nd June 2015.

Alton Towers Smiler Crash

There was an accident at The Alton Towers rollercoaster, 'The Smiler'. The crash happened on Tuesday at around lunch time.

16 people were reported injured at the scene of the crash, 4 of which were reported to have serious leg injuries.

Witnesses have stated that there was a lot of ''screaming and shouting'' at the scene when the accident occurred. Some witnesses at the scene also mentioned that there was ''blood everywhere''.
