Alton Towers re-opens after Smiler crash

Alton Towers re-opened yesterday, almost a week after the Smiler crash.

Last Tuesday, a carriage with 16 passengers crashed into a test carriage onboard the rollercoaster. The four young thrill-seekers in the front row when the crash occurred were seriously injured in the crash.

What was meant to be a fun thrill-seeking day quickly became a day full of terror for those involved in the crash.

However, the park has re-opened with queues a lot shorter than usual. Thrill-seekers have said that they felt safe going to the theme park as it would be ''safer'' especially on the day of re-opening''.
